The direct predecessor of the Budweiser Budvar brewery as a national enterprise was the Czech Share Brewery. It was founded in 1895 and its activity directly related to the historical tradition of brewing of beer in Ceske Budejovice which dates back to the 13th century when the town was founded and chartered for brewing rights. When producing Budweiser Budvar Lager, they use only traditional procedures and draw on the knowledge we acquired from a number of generations of brewers.
The beer is brewed exclusively from top-rate raw materials: Žatec (Saaz) hops, Moravian malt and water from their own artesian wells. Since our lager is characterized by its delicate flavour and unique composition and character, it is sought after by thousands of high-quality beer fans all over the world. Customers everywhere all over the world where Budweiser Budvar beer is bought can be certain that it has been produced in the place of its origin, Ceske Budejovice (formerly Budweis).
