Tomatin Distillery is located in the Monadhliath Mountains in the Highlands of Scotland. Tomatin's history goes back to the 15th century, as the place where drovers passing by would fill their flasks. It was established as a formal distillery in 1897 and re-established as The Tomain Distillery Co. in 1985.At 315 meters about sea-level, it is one of the highest distilleries in Scotland.
Tomatin uses the soft water of Alt-an-Firth, which gets filtered and purified as it runs down the Monadhliath Mountains. This influences the delicate, rich and mellow style of the Highland Malt. Tomatin continues to use traditional distilling techniuqes.
