BRENNAN WINES

My family first planted vines in Gibbston 20 years ago. In 2006, a mere 200 cases of Pinot Noir were produced by begging and borrowing a few tanks and clearing out the garage - the first Brennan winery. I recruited the family as my cellar crew and the Brennan label was born. While our vine numbers and varieties have grown, our philosophy has always remained the same. Every wine we make is grown and produced on-site. We embrace the varied conditions of this incredible landscape and strive to showcase the hallmarks of our site in every wine we make. Each wine is a bit of history in a bottle, different from one year to the next. Always founded in elegance, finesse and poise - a true sense of this place. It has been a fantastic journey so far, with so much yet to come.

About the Winemaker

Sean Brennan

From New York to Gibbston, originally a native to New York, Sean spent much of his childhood in Gibbston and the surrounding area, where his family has had land for over 30 years. At an early age, Sean realised that he wanted to settle in this part of the world and began his winemaking career in 1994 when the first vines were planted on the family vineyard in Gibbston. For many years, the fruit on the Brennan Vineyards was sold to Peregrine Wines, while Sean was developing his winemaking skills. In early 2006, Sean moved to Gibbston permanently with his family, and launched the Brennan label.
