CHATEAU GRAND PUY DUCASSE
This Fifth Growth Grand Cru Classé producer consists of three large plots, totalling 40
hectares, on some of the appellation’s finest terroir. It was pieced together via a
combination of purchase and inheritance by lawyer Pierre Ducasse in the 18th Century,
with the northern part bordering Mouton, Lafite and Pontet-Canet, the central plot
located in Grand-Puy and the southern parcel on the Saint-Lambert plateau.
Grand-Puy
Ducasse is a 59-hectare estate, with 40 under vine in a mix of 60% Cabernet
Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Since 2004 the estate has been owned by CA Grands
Crus, and there has been a decided upswing in quality during their tenure.
