CUTTY SARK
Cutty Sark is an ironic Whisky whose distinctive yellow label has featured top bars and clubs for around 80 years. Cutty Sark was established by a group of friends in 1923. They decided to move away from tradition and created the first Scotch designed to be mixed. Their whisky aims to capture the spirit of adventure. Cutty Sark gets its name from a naval ship which recently retired to England for naval training when the brand was established; their yellow label started as a printer's error.
During the 1960s, Cutty Sark was one of the best-selling Scotch Whisky in the US - astronaut Gordon Cooper even smuggled a bottle with him on the Mercury 9 mission. Even Tony Soprano keeps a bottle in his office drawer.
