FORTALEZA
Tequila Fortaleza is a journey back in time to when tequila was crafted with care and tradition. Produced in small batches using time-honored methods, Fortaleza offers a unique experience that captures the essence of tequila as it was made 150 years ago.
Harvested from the heartland of tequila in Jalisco, Mexico, agaves mature for at least eight years, developing a sweet, mineral-rich flavour. These agaves are slowly cooked for 36 hours in a traditional stone oven, allowing deep caramelization to enhance their natural sweetness.
The next step involves a volcanic stone tahona to crush the agave fibers, a labor-intensive process that prioritizes quality over efficiency. Fermentation occurs in open-air wooden tanks using a special family yeast, producing a rich, complex flavor profile without any shortcuts.
Distilled twice in century-old copper pot stills, Fortaleza is then aged in re-chipped and re-charred American oak barrels. Each hand-blown bottle is a testament to craftsmanship, making every sip of Fortaleza a taste of tequila history.
