MIRAFIORE

The extensive property that houses Fontanafredda is known as Mirafiore, the original name the company’s wines were labelled under when it was first established right back in the 1870s. That historic name now graces a new range of wines sourced from those first vineyard plots and crafted in the original style. In its early days, Fontanafredda was a virtual village, accommodating, along with their schooling and healthcare, all the families that tended the grapes and made the wine. Sustainability, then, is key, with no chemicals or pesticides in the vineyard and a natural approach to winemaking that involves very low use of sulphur.
