Scotts Brewing Co came about when Phillip Scott was diagnosed as being gluten intolerant; facing a future without beer he decided to do something about it. Now with his partner Tyla he brews 600 liter batches of gluten-free pale ale in an industrial unit in West Auckland. Scotts were awarded the Morton Coutts Trophy for innovation at BrewNZ 2009. Scotts Pale Ale balances a light honey taste, a hoppy cascade aroma with a firm bitterness and crisp tart citrus finish.
