The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated was created by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie in homage to the company's almost two-century-old whisky-making tradition, following the same guidelines established by founder James Allardice. Peat was traditionally burned in the kiln at the conclusion of the barley malting process in the Highlands, producing a rich and warm, earthy smoke. The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated features all the full-bodied richness of The GlenDronach, as well as the powerful Highland flavour that comes from being peated to those traditional levels. This uncommon peated version of The GlenDronach was aged in Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso sherry, and Port barrels, resulting in a smoky, rich, and earthy whisky with hints of Highland toffee and treacle. The extended ageing in Spanish oak barrels is the sole source of colour for all releases.
