The name originated from the first vintage in 2019 and our Waihopai Valley Vineyard, which has an amazing variety of high-quality fruit in smaller volumes. Pushing boundaries, the concept has now expanded and is morphed into a philosophy of trying to achieve a special blended wine that is completely different each vintage; produced from any subregion within Marlborough. Harvested in small ripe parcels from our Fareham Lane Vineyard, the Pinot Noir saignee was fermented and aged in older French barrique and the Chardonnay portion was fermented and aged in Perle de Quintessence both for 7 months. The final blend was decided after careful consideration resulting in 60% Pinot Noir 40% Chardonnay and bottled on 11th of November 2022 with a light petillant on the palate.Best enjoyed at lunch or before dinner to get the party started.
