Brandy
These Brandies aren’t pop stars, but they will rock your palate. The name Brandy comes from the Dutch term ‘brandewijn’ meaning ‘burned wine’. Brandy is made from distilled wine. They generally feature after dinner and are caramel in colour. There is a vast variety of brandy around the world. Cognac and Armagnac are brandies produced in the region from which they get their name. Brandy also has a major role in the culinary world. It’s the star of a traditional Christmas cake or pudding, and commonly used for glazing meats.
