Our own Aroha Jakicevich recently ventured into their aging aisles where, under the guidance of Starward's Master Blender, Carlie Dyer, she made an unexpected and delightful discovery: at the back of the warehouse lay a unique whisky resonating with notes unheard of in the Southern Hemisphere.

Hand-selected by Aroha Jakicevich for Glengarry, Starward Distillery introduces the limited edition Cask No. 16803. This whisky, rich in notes of honeyed red apples, tobacco, and dried fruits, first matured in red wine casks for three years. It was further refined for an additional 21 months in Limousin oak cognac barrels from France, imparting flavours of baked apples, vanilla, and ginger. Exclusive to New Zealand, this masterpiece reaches its opulent depth at 52% ABV without chill-filtering or artificial colouring. Dram in hand, the dominant sweetness of honey-kissed red apples comes forward, complemented by a delicate tobacco undertone.
