Sake
The Japanese beverage Sake can come in a few different variations. The word itself translates to 'alcohol' so actually encompasses wine, beer, spirits, as well, but in the English speaking world it is associated mainly with Japanese rice wine; Sake as we know it. Made out of the basic three main ingredients, rice, water and Koji mould it is the polishing of the rice before the brewing process that makes for a top quality Sake. Generally the more polished the rice, the better!
