TOREA
The simple goal at Torea is to capture the essence of classic New Zealand varietals. With this in mind, Torea have sourced examples showing why New Zealand wine is acclaimed around the world.
The variable Torea (Oystercatcher) is a bird that mainly inhabits the sandy or rocky coastlines around New Zealand and in the Marlborough region. The Torea is endemic to New Zealand, meaning it is not found anywhere else in the world, and is very rare. Both bird and wine hold similar characteristics; they are native to New Zealand, are perfectly suited to a summer beach scene, and cherished and protected either by DOC or wine lovers around the world.
The virtual winery suits the next generation who are interested in growing the fledging brand, and enjoy tasting and selecting wines for the Torea. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir varietals are consistently produced.
