Grand Sendree Rose

Drappier Grande Sendre Rose is arguably the finest wine produced at the house. Produced in very limited quantities, as only the best parcels from the oldest vines are harvested. It takes its name from a piece of land covered in cinders (cendre) after a fire ravaged Urville in 1838. Cendre changed to Sendre after a spelling error made its way into a version of the land register. It has a vivacious and attractive bouquet of raspberries, wild plums, cherry, rhubarb and spices. This is a full-bodied, vinous and serious style of Ros Champagne, that will evolve beautifully with racy acids and a tangy concentrated fruit core.
