Rose Zero Brut Nature

Benoit started making this in early 2000 and since then has made six different incarnations of a Rose, different varietal mix, different base all in the search for the perfect rose brut nature expression. This is the sixth rendition, a mix of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir (all red wine). Based on the 2009 harvest with 20% reserve wine from 2008 (aged in oak), disgorged July 2016 after 4 years on lees with zero dosage. The wine is a pale salmon colour, immediately attractive with a gorgeous bouquet, one of the key aspects Benoit has been aiming for. The palate has an impressive tannic structure and balance, very smart.
