Aromatic Pinot Gris with texture, richness and cool climate intensity. From the Awatere Valley in Marlborough, perfectly ripened fruit is handled carefully to preserve the delicate aromas, fruit purity and freshness. Lemonade, white peach and Nashi pear are complemented by subtle fermentation characters of honeysuckle and lemon curd. Following fermentation, some time on yeast lees contributes a creamy texture but also inviting bread and baked apples flavours. The resulting fullness is lifted by crisp acidity that is in turn softened by a touch of residual sweetness - a harmonious balance. This is cool climate Pinot Gris at its best with many facets and shows that purists need not always be conformists.
