The Loire Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in France, stretching from close to Burgundy all the way to the Muscadet region near the Atlantic. Postcard perfect Chateâu sit alongside vineyards that stretch back to Roman settlement of Gaul in the 1st century AD. It is the spiritual home of Sauvignon Blanc with the famous appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé in the Upper Loire. In the middle section we find the stunning Chenin Blanc’s from Vouvray, that are some of the most long lived white wines in the world. A characteristic often found in the best examples of all of these, is the stunning acidity that enables them to age so well.
